As President of AM FM Consulting Group Inc., Marcia partners with clients across healthcare, education, government, and the private sector to align their facility operations with mission and strategy.
Marcia is also the co-founder of the Canadian Association of Facility and Asset Education (CAFAE), an organization designed to elevate professional education through applied learning.
Marcia has served as Chair of Membership and Education for the International Facility Management Association’s Greater Toronto and South Central Ontario Chapter, where she championed professional development opportunities and strengthened the FM community through mentorship and peer learning. She is also an active contributor to the Asset Management Professionals of Canada (AMP), ConnexFM, and other industry organizations that foster collaboration across sectors.
Marcia’s commitment to community is reflected in the initiatives she has founded to create connection and knowledge-sharing among professionals. She established Canadian Women in Facilities Management (CWF) to support mentorship and visibility for women in the industry, and launched Cappuccino Hour, a monthly discussion forum where facility and asset management professionals exchange insights, explore new technologies, and share practical solutions.
A dedicated educator, Marcia teaches in the University of Toronto’s Facility Management Certificate Program, where she was recognized with the Excellence in Teaching Award – Business and Professional Studies for her outstanding contributions to applied learning and professional growth.
Through her consulting, teaching, and community leadership, Marcia O’Connor continues to shape the future of facility and asset management in Canada and beyond.
